Lots of famous people from the past owned pit bulls! Mark Twain, Theodore Roosevelt, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Thomas Edison, Woodrow Wilson, John Steinbeck, Helen Keller, and Fred Astaire all owned sweet pitbulls.

Today, several common celebrities own pit bulls! Alicia Silverstone, Jon Stewart, Ken Howard,  Rachel Bilson, Jamie Foxx, Rachel Ray, Joey Porter, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Madonna, Usher, and Pink all own pitties!

It is very cool to think about the fact that these people aren't against Pit bulls! It makes us very happy :)!

What a Beautiful Weekend!

It might be a little chilly outside this weekend, but it's been beautiful with all the sun shining!  We have really been working more with Argus and his people skills.  Hopefully he will love everybody as much as he loves us, but it is taking a lot of work to get him to used to strangers.  I hate to think that someone was not very nice to him before we found him, but he really has come a long way!  I mean, whatta guy?  Right?

Help Save Finn's Eyes!

This is for a very good friend of ours dog Finn who just found out he needs eye surgery to save his eye sight!  This pup and his owner are very near and dear to our hearts and really inspired us to create this website.  Please, please donate! http://finnneedsglasses.chipin.com/finns-surgery

Via Facebook:
The lovely Finn who's adorable image graces our collective facebook feeds needs an expensive eye surgery. Finn is a kind of mascot for bull terriers everywhere, and his owner who does so much for the rescue of bull terriers would never ask anyone for money to help with this. So I am asking everyone for her, because Allison is nothing short of a dog saving, tattooed, motorcycle riding saint. She needs your help, so she can keep helping others.

Here are the details of the situation:

Finns condition is called Lens Luxation. It is considered an opthalmic emergency and vision threatening condition. Little Finn has to have 4-5 days of pre-op meds to prep the eye before his surgery on Monday. Some breeds, such as terriers, poodles, schnauzers, are genetically prone to weakened lens zonules, which will predispose the lens to dislocate due to zonular stretching. If the lens dislocates and falls anteriorly, the lens then rubs on the cornea, resulting in cloudiness and edema due to damage of delicate cells. This is where Finn is right now. Its very uncomfortable for him, so hes on pain meds and inflammation meds. As some of you know, right before Christmas this happened as well, and by some miracle, the day he was dropped off for surgery, the lens had fallen into the post-anterior chamber, where the eye will accomodate for it being there. It was only a matter of time before it fell forward again. And it has, so now, its time for surgery.

I've created a chip in page where you can donate whatever little bit you can to help out. I know times are tough out there for everyone right now but, that's what friends and community is all about, being able to pull together to get each other through the rough patches.
Come on, you all love Allison, and if everyone donated the equivalent of the price of a fancy coffee she'd have a lot less to worry about. The lady, and Mr. Finn deserve it :)
